We completed our 2021-22 fiscal year on June 30, 2022. You can read the summary of our financial activity in the CFFC Financial Statement 06302022. The variations between the 2021-22 and the 2020-21 years demonstrate the influence of Trikafta and COVID.

For the population who benefit from CFTR modulators, Trikafta has significantly decreased the exacerbations that lead to hospitalizations. Consequently, the distribution of Hospital Help Packets has declined. Additionally, COVID protocols reduced clinic visits in 2021. As a result, we were able to meet the demand for parking passes in the 2021-22 fiscal year from the inventory purchased at the end of the prior year.

COVID protocols also impacted our other major program: Education Day. Following the cancellation of the program scheduled for August 2020, we converted from an in-person event to a webinar format. The expenses in the last fiscal reflect the related technology licenses as well as the speakers’ fee.

The other major change in expenses relates to the Andrew Eve Memorial Scholarship Fund. Two scholarships were awarded in 2021-22 while no applications were received in the preceding year.

On the revenue side, the resumption of Education Day also meant the return of sponsor fees for that program. We also resumed the Living with CF Golf Tournament as CFFC’s only fund raising event.

CFFC continues to be focused on providing benefits directly to the CF community. To get an historical perspective of CFFC’s financial support, visit our Finances page. The people living with CF in the Rochester/Finger Lakes region served by the Rochester CF Centers are our primary beneficiaries; however, our reach extends beyond that boundary with our conversion to virtual Education Day programming and the expanded criteria for the Andrew Eve Memorial Scholarship Fund.

CFFC operates as a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. Accordingly, we file annual information returns with the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Charities Bureau.
