CFF Community Voice has announced a survey being conducted to gather perspectives on mental health care. Here is the announcement:
The CF Foundation’s Mental Health Advisory Committee, in collaboration with the European Cystic Fibrosis Society, is conducting a survey to better understand CF community preferences and experiences surrounding mental health screening and follow-up care.
The mission of the Mental Health Advisory Committee is to promote and support the mental well-being of individuals with CF and their families through a partnership with CF Care Centers to provide screening, preventative interventions and ongoing innovative services. The group was set up after the CF Mental Health Guidelines had been published. These Guidelines recommend that annual mental health screening, for anxiety and depression, should be offered to people with CF who are 12 years or older. It is recommended that caregivers should also be offered screening.
Results from this survey, in addition to feedback provided by CF care teams on the same topic, will be used to help CF care teams provide high quality mental health care.
