09/02/2024 – CF gene therapy restores rat CFTR function as well as modulators – More promising results in the pursuit of gene therapy for CF. This study had positive results for mutations not affected by CFTR modulators.
09/04/2024 – Works by the CF Community 2024 – The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has shared a set of works by or about people living with CF.
09/05/2024 – VOMG molecule effective against M. abscessus lung infections in CF – Despite advances with CFTR modulators, lung infections remain a concern for people living with CF. This research shows potential for combating a particularly serious bacteria.
09/06/2024 – A Summer of Impact: Christina’s Summer at Cystic Fibrosis Canada – While this story relates to CF Canada, it is good to recognize the help provided by, and the expanded understanding of, individuals who do not have CF.
09/07/2024 – Atypical symptoms seen in infant boy with rare CF gene mutation – This story has a sad ending but an important message: the wide variations in CF presentations can complicate diagnosis.
