11/25/2024CF Foundation invests in Recode to support gene editing for CF – The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continues to fund it’s “Until It’s Done” approach. In this case, they are supporting gene therapy that is independent of the CFTR mutation.

11/27/2024Inside the lab with Issie – This is another article in the Cystic Fibrosis Trust series interviewing CF researchers. Aside from seeing how labs work, this article gives insight into investigating gene editing.

11/28/2024 – Happy Thanksgiving – Every experience with CF is unique; however, there are aspects that we can recognize on this day of giving thanks. Researchers have made great advances with breadth and effectiveness of treatments. That said, researchers have not given up on finding alternatives for those who do not benefit from existing treatments. Care has also expanded for organs other than the lungs that are affected by CF. Finally, we miss the members of our community who have passed on but we can be thankful for the time we shared with them and the inspiration they provided.

11/29/2024Nanorobot hand made of DNA grabs viruses for diagnostics and blocks cell entry – While not currently applicable to common CF infections, the approach could eventually be applied to more applicable viruses. Besides, the ingenuity of researchers is fascinating.

This letter from the CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Canada to a newspaper frames the need to a comprehensive understanding.
