04/19/2026 – “I want to raise as much money as possible and inspire future kids with CF” – Henry’s story – This young man is not the first person living with CF who has set his sights on a career in medicine or pushes himself to run a marathon. He is promoting the Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s London marathon, but you could use his inspiration to join Great Strides at a site near you.
04/20/2026 – Important Safety Update Added to CFTR Modulators’ Labels – We have previously shared stories of individuals who experienced mental health impacts while taking CFTR modulators. The FDA recently updated the prescription label to recognize the potential mental health side effects of modulators. Since many of use do not read that fine print, check out the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation description in the linked article (which includes a two-page guide for “Navigating Mental Health And Cftr Modulators”).
04/21/2026 – Meet Archie – A Toddler with CF – This link opens a PDF with the story of a family adjusting to life with a toddler who has CF. The article promotes Cystic Fibrosis Queensland but you can translate the support they describe to the help available from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and CFFC.
04/22/2026 – Scientists discover skincare compound that kills drug-resistant bacteria – Researchers are looking in unique places to fight resistant bacteria. Although the initial experiments discussed in this article were focused on E coli, the ability to modify the key protein holds hope that the technique could be applied to bacteria more prevalent in CF.
04/23/2026 – The Mental Load of Living with CF and ADHD – When we say people living with CF are not exempt from other issues, we are usually referring to physical ailments. This story demonstrates that mental health issues beyond anxiety and depression can be experienced by those with CF.
04/24/2026 – Tiny antibody therapy could be ‘breakthrough’ in CF treatment – This article represents another chapter in the “ain’t science wonderful” story. The scientists reimagined antibodies to produce a protein that increases the effectiveness of Trikafta.
