The CF Foundation recently provided an update on the following research trial.
Early signs of efficacy study with riociguat in adult homozygous F508 del
This is a phase 2, placebo controlled trial that will look at the safety and tolerability of the drug riociguat. This trial will also look for early signs of the drug’s effectiveness by measuring sweat chloride. Researchers will test the drug at two different doses taken three times a day in study participants. The study is for people with CF who are 18 years or older and have 2 copies of the delta F508del mutation.
