12/21/2025 – Dr. Christina Thornton: Digging into the Mystery of Candida – This research notes that a yeast which is commonly ignored may impact CF lung exacerbations. It also suggests that more complete lab tests may be needed.
12/22/2025 – Wishing to be at home for Christmas: Emma’s story – CF doesn’t respect holidays (or birthdays, or anniversaries, etc.). This blogger explains her simple wish: to be home for Christmas.
12/23/2025 – Small study finds GLP-1 drugs boost lung function in CF patients – With the improvements in CF treatment, excess weight has become an issue for people living with CF. The incidence of CF-related diabetes is also increasing. There is a glimmer of good news in this study that shows the drug used to treat those issues may also improve lung function.
12/24/2025 – Finding Community Through an Unexpected Hobby – I guess it is not surprising that playing bagpipes is good for clearing the lungs (like a big flutter valve?). It is a little more surprising that bagpipes could become the center of a CF community.
12/26/2025 – This popular painkiller may do more harm than good – Chronic pain can be an issue for some people living with CF. This review indicated that one painkiller prescribed to avoid opioid dependence may not be the best choice.
12/27/2025 – Honest conversations are key to parenting with CF – In this 5-minute video (with accompanying transcript), a mom discusses how she talked about her Cf to her daughter, and how those discussions changed as her daughter got older.
