12/11/2024 – Impact of Trikafta on individuals living with cystic fibrosis – We recently posted a letter from the CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Canada drawing attention to the decreased demand for health services resulting from Trikafta use. This report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information presents the numbers behind that assessment.
12/12/2024 – Why I wish people wouldn’t search cystic fibrosis online – Internet search engines may be the first option people consider when trying to answer a question. As this blogger relates, researching CF on the internet is not as accurate as checking sports statistics.
12/13/2024 – Minuscule robots for targeted drug delivery – Another episode of interesting science. The research was conducted on mice with bladder cancer, but you can imagine the application to CF treatments. For example, if antibiotics could be delivered directly to the site of infection, the damage from large dosages could be reduced.
12/14/2024 – Survey Highlights the Burden of Health Care Costs on the CF Community – It makes sense that people living with CF face financial as well as physical challenges. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation conducted a survey to support that common sense with statistics.
