02/03/2026 – Results of innovative new trial for people with rare CF variants shows promise – This research report has two bits of good news. First, there is a promise of a CFTR modulator therapy that will work for people with rare mutations. Second, the research used a novel approach to identify individuals who might benefit from the therapy.
02/04/2026 – Discovering My CF Diagnosis as a Teenager – In this story, one aspect of the delayed diagnosis was his ethnicity (non-Caucasian). The twist in this story is that the diagnosis was ultimately suggested by the patient as a high school freshman.
02/06/2026 – Scientists ID new way to help predict, track CF-related diabetes – This report is an example of the basic research that provides the foundation for developing reliable tests and treatments. It is also an indicator that research is being directed to CFRD.
02/07/2026 – Involving the CF community every step of the way: Debbie’s story – This mom’s story leads to her participation with the UK Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s Involvement Group. There are two interesting points raised along the way: (a) every case of CF is different (even in the same family), and (b) CF is more than just lungs.
