05/28/2023 – How CF Has Impacted My Mental Health – May brings together CF Awareness Month andf National Mental Health Month – a meaningful combination. This story has some tough scenes but emphasizing the need to recognize, and seek help for, mental health issues.
05/29/2023 – Scientists in NYC aim to increase diversity in CF clinical trials – In order to develop effective treatments for the entire CF population, clinical trials need to be representative of the entire CF population.
05/30/2023 – My Whole Life Changed – This story is not just about a life-changing medicine; it’s also about changing the lives of many through clinical trials.
05/31/2023 – Using AI, scientists find a drug that could combat drug-resistant infections – This study focused on a bacterial infection common in hospitals but not necessarily the CF population. [In fact, the discovered drug did not impact Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Staphylococcus aureus.] That said, the approach could be applied to find new treatments for resistant organisms.
06/01/2023 – Update on NextBreath 2023 – The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is presenting the NextBreath 2023 virtual program on June 13 and 14. Details about the program are now available.
06/02/2023 – Inhaled TAVT-135 shows promise as treatment for all CF types – Further evidence of the progress being made in finding treatments that can benefit the entire CF population.
06/03/2023 – The Importance of Self-Advocating After Transplant – An object lesson in the importance of self-advocacy, including continual education, regardless of the apparent state of health.
