08/04/2024 – Long-term Kaftrio increases gut microbiota diversity in CF – Research continues to determine the overall effects of Trikafta (Kaftrio in Europe). Even with the improvement, the CFTR modulator alone does not resolve the gastrointestinal issues associated with CF.
08/05/2024 – A Beautiful (Family) Day – CFFC was proud to host our return to an in-person Family Day. A gorgeous day, a great venue and a wonderful CF community.
08/06/2024 – Phase 2a clinical trial of novel CF therapy ETD001 doses first patient – The report on this clinical trial includes two important points. One, CF research takes place all around the world. Two, researchers continue to look for alternatives to CFTR modulators.

08/08/2024– Diversity, composition of bacteria in gut altered in CF adults: Study – This study explored the link between CFTR mutations and variations in gut microbiota which contributed to the severity of the disease.

08/10/2024 – 3D-printed blood vessels bring artificial organs closer to reality – Artificial organs would reduce the stress of waiting for a donor prior to transplantation. This report discusses progress in overcoming a significant problem in artificial organs.
