09/08/2026 – “This challenge is for those people who may be feeling the same despair and hopelessness that I felt” – While a part of this story deals with fund raising for the UK’s Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the core of the story is about resilience and self-advocacy.
09/09/2026 – Youth with CF face mental health issues despite taking approved treatment – This study notes that mental health remains a concern for young people living with CF – and their caregivers – affecting about 1/3 of the population. The study noted that the findings applied equally to those on CFTR modulators.
09/10/2026 – Living life to the fullest despite being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis: Emily’s story – This story comes form more than a decade ago, but it carries a message that is always timely: key elements of CF care are self-advocacy and persistence.
09/11/2026 – Scientists find a bone-building switch that could fight osteoporosis – While this research does not specifically mention cystic fibrosis, people living with CF are susceptible to osteoporosis. The compound identified in this research offers a natural treatment that appears to be more effective and safer than currently available treatment options.
09/12/2026 – Cystic Fibrosis Pain: Causes, Effects, and Management – The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation reminds us that September is Pain Awareness Month. [Of course, many people living with CF are aware of pain every day.] This article provides an overview of issues relating to pain and includes a link to more detailed guidelines for addressing pain.
