In 2013, CFFC launched a new fund raising event – the Living with CF Golf Tournament. Based on the feedback and results from the inaugural event, the golf tournament has become an annual fixture on the CFFC calendar in early September.
The Living with CF Golf Tournament is held at Southern Meadows Golf Club; a cozy nine hole course located in Rush, NY. The tournament uses a scramble format which gives all players, regardless of age or skill level, a decent chance to make a trip to the prize table. Following check-in (with breakfast snacks), play begins with a shotgun start. This ensures that no one is late to the delicious lunch buffet served up by the Southern Meadows staff. Unlike many golf tourneys, the Living with CF Golf Tournament wraps up no later than 1:00PM so you have the rest of the day for other fun activities (or chores).
In addition to the entry fees, CFFC has been honored by the contributions from a wide range of sponsors – individuals as well as local business. (See the complete list of tournament sponsors since its inception below.) The moneys raised through the golf tournament replenish our general fund. See our Programs page for a description of the various ways we support the CF community.
The results of each tournament are announced in posts on this site and the CFFC Facebook page. [NOTE: The tournament was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19 protocol restrictions or 2018 due to personal commitments of tournament volunteers.] Here is a list of the results announcements:
In addition to the entry fees, the Living with CF Golf Tournament has benefited from the generosity of individuals and businesses that have sponsored the event. In some cases, the contributions have been in the form of merchandise or gift cards that added to the prize table and fill a gift bag for each player. We have also received several cash donations as hole sponsors. Each year’s sponsors are recognized in the tournament results. A summary is presented below.
